Clock Tower

As you ascend to the apex of the clock tower, join us in celebrating the grand finale of the evening with a glass of bubbly and Chef Kade’s final creation.

The clock tower was completed in 1912 to adorn the top of the Vancouver Block ‘skyscraper’ and quickly became one of the city’s most prominent landmarks. Designed by the architectural firm Parr & Fee, the Vancouver Block is 15 stories high and clad with pale terracotta tiles, making it one of the tallest and most distinct pieces of architecture in the Vancouver Edwardian era.

Now dwarfed by the glass metropolis that surrounds the downtown peninsula, Vancouver Block still shines over 100 years later as a classic Vancouver landmark, standing as a testament and subversion to the passage of time.

As you gather to celebrate or reflect on the experiences you just encountered, listen to the whir of the gears and the ticking of the clock in a syncopated rhythm, like the movement of your bones and the beat of your heart. Listen to the symphonic overture of time; the sound of the present, the echo of the past, and the hum of the future.
