The Event
Here for Now is an immersive dinner exploring food, art, architecture, and time, and you are one of the lucky few to experience it with the historic Vancouver Block. Much like time, this experience is ever-changing and fleeting as you embark on a visual, auditory, and culinary journey.
Over the course of the evening, you will move through a sequence of spaces, installations, and five food courses by Kade Philps, chef and founder of Pantalons PopUp. Musicians Phil Austrom and Chris Goodchild will provide the soundtrack for the evening, with music following guests through to their final destination.
Along the way, you'll be given clues that send you on different timelines, to activities and encounters. No two paths through the evening will be the same.
As the evening progresses, you'll also be making your way toward a final destination somewhere in the building. We're keeping that part a secret. Suffice it to say, the Vancouver Block has a few surprises at roof level. And yes, the music is coming with you.
The Path
6pm: The Night Begins
Guests arrive between 6pm - 6:30 pm, greeted by your first guide for the evening. From here, you’re free to wander through the open spaces, following your curiosity, the food, the drinks, and the art that surrounds you. There are no assigned seats and no single way through. For now, simply explore the rooms, search based on clues, fully in the present.
6:30 pm: Experience the Present
The first dish will be served starting at 6:30 pm. Over the course of the next hour and a half, 3 courses of intentionally curated food and wine pairings will be served to you as you explore the space. Timelines will continue to emerge as you interact with installations and receive new clues to your next destination
8 pm: Paths Diverge
The final 2 courses will be served differently amongst different people. The choices made in the Present with determine where your next adventure lies. Starting at 8:30 pm, groups of 10 people will be guided through one of two more intimate experiences that lie behind one of the two closed doors.
8:30 pm: The Finale Toll
As the last group emerges from their ephemeral experience, the group will be reunited once more to celebrate and reflect as you move to the final destination of the night’s journey.
9:30 pm: A Journey’s End
As the clock strikes 9:30, our evening together will come to a close. You all will venture out and continue on with your nights, and the events of the evening will cease to exist, for they are only Here for Now.
